When you have installed and competed you initial configuration of Skyline there are occasions that you may need to perform certain maintenance tasks to Skyline. Details in this section cover:
• | Running a Manual Backup. It is strongly recommended that Skyline databases is backed up on a regular basis. Automatic backups should be handled by applications such as Backup Exec, Red Gate or the Maintenance Plans in the full version of SQL. You need to backup the 3 databases as well as Uploaded docs & website also need to be backed up on a regular basis. |
• | Taking the Website Offline. If you are doing an upgrade or doing a manual backup you need to take the Skyline website offline. This will prevent changes to the database during the backup. |
• | Accessing SQL Service through a Firewall. For Skyline to be able to reach the databases on an external SQL server the relevant ports on this server must be open. |
• | Amending Skyline Email Settings. You are able to enter the email addresses that are used when the Skyline system generated emails are sent. |
• | Moving the Skyline Database. The standard Skyline installation program installs all the required elements on the C: drive of the server. This section shows how to move these elements to different drives. |
