|•||Remote Internet access for installation and ongoing technical support|
If ePrint Direct will be installing Skyline or providing technical support for Skyline remote Internet access is required. Remote access must be tested before the installation of Skyline, including all user names and passwords.
The Skyline installation directory, the document store and the SQL database should be backed up by the customer. Backups are the responsibility of the customer.
Disaster recovery is the responsibility of the customer unless ePrint is hosting the site for the customer.
Note: If ePrint Direct or the Partner is to install and maintain Skyline, we need to be able to log in to the server with an account that has full Local Administrator rights on the server. Domain admin rights are not required.

VMware, HyperV and Azure VM Servers are supported as long as the required CPU and RAM resources are allocated to it. Two or more cores are recommended because the PDF converter can use 100% of one core.

It is important for on-going technical support that all Windows Updates are always applied.
|•||IP-Address, DNS and SSL|
The Skyline Server must have a fixed IP-address and an entry in the domain’s DNS server if it is to be used on-premise only. If the website is to be access over the Internet, then the customer must provide a domain name that is set up to point to the Skyline server. The website should have a valid SSL certificate and it is the responsibility of the customer to renew the certificate when required. Please contact your IT department to check that this has been configured.
ePrint Direct recommend that suitable anti-virus protection be loaded on the Skyline server. The installation and maintenance of the anti-virus protection is the responsibility of the customer. Anti-virus applications may interfere with the installation of some Skyline components, and may need to be controlled or turned off during installation.

|•||LibreOffice or Microsoft Office|
Skyline requires a copy of LibreOffice or Microsoft Office 2013 or 2016 (32 bit or 64 bit) to be installed on the web server as it is used during the conversion of uploaded Office documents to PDF.
The free LibreOffice is recommended over Microsoft Office because it is more stable in a server environment and faster, but LibreOffice cannot convert Publisher documents. Microsoft Office 2016 is recommended if there is a need to convert Publisher documents.
Note: The Microsoft Office installation procedure is non-standard and must be followed exactly. Please refer to the section Microsoft Office for installation instructions.
Skyline uses two SQL databases to store orders and configuration details. These can use SQL Express or a full version of 2014, 2016, 2017 or 2019. Please refer to the sectionInstalling SQL Server Management Studio Express for more information.
