Checking the PDF Converter

If there was an error during the PDF conversion process the first step should be to Stop and Restart the Neevia Document Service and then check that the PDF converter service is working. If there is still a problem check the Neevia converter properties. You may need to contact your IT Department as you need to have access to the Skyline Website server to be able to check that the services are running.

1.Log in to the web server.
2.Open Windows Services by Start > Administrative Tools > Services..

3.Stop the Services listed below in the order that they are shown.
1)Skyline PDF Scheduler.
2)Skyline PDF Converter.
3)DCStart.
4.Start the Services listed below in the order that they are shown.
1)DCStart.
2)Skyline PDF Converter.
3)Skyline PDF Scheduler.
5.Open the Neevia Doc Converter and check that there is activity. The activity indicates that the converter process is working.

To check that the PDF Converter Service is working:

1.You need to Stop the Neevia Document Converter Pro service.

2.Close the Neevia Document Converter Pro Service.
3.Open Neevia Document Converter Pro. It will open as a program and not a service. When not running as a service there is a blank panel at the top of the screen that will list all the files that are waiting to be converted.

4.Drag & drop a document into the program. Check that document is converted OK. If the conversion is completed the Neevia Document Converter Pro is working.
5.Close the Program.
6.Open Windows Services by Start > Administrative Tools > Services.
7.Locate the service named DCStart & Start the service.
8.Open Neevia Document Pro & run a test document conversion by dragging and dropping a file into the converter.

To check the Neevia Converter Properties:

1.Stop the Neevia Converter service.

2.Open the Printer Settings window.
3.Select the printer Neevia ShellPrintPDF. Right mouse click and select Remove Device.

4.Click Yes to confirm that you want to remove the printer.

5.Select the printer Neevia Converter Right mouse click and select Printer Properties.

6.The Neevia Converter Properties window opens. Click Printing Preferences.

7.The Neevia Converter Printing Preferences window opens. Click Advanced.

8.The Neevia Converter Advanced Options window opens. Make sure that the following options are selected.
1.Graphic - True Type Font : Download as Soft font.
2.Document Options - Postscript Options - Postscript Output Option : Optimize for Portability.
3.Document Options - Postscript Options - True Type Font Download Option : Outline.

9.Click OK to close the Neevia Converter Advanced Options window.
10.Click OK to close the Neevia Converter Printing Preferences window.
11.Click the Advanced tab. Select Printing Defaults.

12.The Neevia Converter Printing Preferences window opens. Click Advanced.

13.The Neevia Converter Advanced Options window opens. Make sure that the following options are selected.
1.Graphic - True Type Font : Download as Soft font.

14.Click OK to close the Neevia Converter Advanced Options window.
15.Click OK to close the Neevia Converter Printing Preferences window.
16.Click OK to close the Neevia Converter Properties window.
17.Restart Neevia PDF Converter Service & run a test conversion by dragging and dropping a document into the converter service. The NeeviaShellPDF printer will be re-created.
